12 November, 2010

I just returned from Kalispell Montana late last night. I will be posting pictures as soon as Don returns home late tonight or tomorrow.

Dads funeral was very nice a bit chilly but not bad. Family in attendance were..... Myself(Jo Ellen), Don, Eric, Diana Ziegler, Nichole Ivie, Terri Wise, Lee Hopkins, Bill and Jeane Weastergren, Tom and Susie Homan. There was a few friends of mine and Dons that also attended. It was a small group of people but very nice. Terri, Lee and I picked out nice headstones for Dad and Mom. They will be placed sometime in the spring. Dads has a tree and ocean waves on it and moms has roses and a humming bird. they are a nice earthy color granite (several different browns and some black specks). We tried everything possible to get wireless up at the cemetery but nothing worked. So Nichole Videoed it and copied everyone's pictures. she is going to put them all together an a disc and I will be mailing them out to those who want them. if you are not one of the children and would like a copy please email me and let me know. Name, Address etc. you can email it to me joellenziegler@gmail.com

The military honors were done at the funeral and the Flag and shells presented to Uncle Bill.
Kalispell 3rd. ward provided a luncheon for the family and friends after the services. This was very kind of them.

I will be mailing out to the siblings a few things including programs from the funeral and a copy of the Death certificate. I will probably wait till Nichole is done with the video.

There are a few other details I will be discussing with my siblings that need to be finished up.

I know Dad is so happy to be back with Mom . We will greatly miss him but I know life is eternal and we will see him again some day.

I hope and pray we can all use this blog to keep up to date with each other and share our joys and our sorrows.

I will continue to post on here and hope you enjoy our families lives and news.

I LOVE and MISS you ALL.

1 November, 2010

These picture are from this morning This is Ann the Hospice CNA who comes and bathes Dad. She is so kind and gentle with him. She is so wonderful.

There has been decline as to expected with dad the major things are his Temperature is high between 100.1 to 103.5 This is due to his heart beating so fast trying to compensate for less oxygen and his organs shutting down. his heart rate is high and has been as high as 131 beats per min. Lynn the Hospice nurse said it could even get higher up to 150 .
he is being kept comfortable with the Morphine.

Dads nails are starting to turn purplish. This shows that the time is close. due to his high temperature he may or may not marble in his legs but he could.

Other than that nothing else to report. Hang in there everyone.
Love you all

31 October, 2010

Dad has been running a fever any where from 99.1 to 102.0 over night and all day. His heart rate has been high between 79-92 . his respiratory is running fast then slow 15-28 . His breathing is very labor intensive for him. thus his body jerks as he breathes. No marbling of the skin or anything like that yet. his mucusy breathing is better when he has Morphine in him. he has been so rigged for so long and now he is like a rag doll. it is like he doesn't have to fight any more so he feels he can relax. Sorry this is short. I will post again if anything changes.
