I just returned from Kalispell Montana late last night. I will be posting pictures as soon as Don returns home late tonight or tomorrow.
Dads funeral was very nice a bit chilly but not bad. Family in attendance were..... Myself(Jo Ellen), Don, Eric, Diana Ziegler, Nichole Ivie, Terri Wise, Lee Hopkins, Bill and Jeane Weastergren, Tom and Susie Homan. There was a few friends of mine and Dons that also attended. It was a small group of people but very nice. Terri, Lee and I picked out nice headstones for Dad and Mom. They will be placed sometime in the spring. Dads has a tree and ocean waves on it and moms has roses and a humming bird. they are a nice earthy color granite (several different browns and some black specks). We tried everything possible to get wireless up at the cemetery but nothing worked. So Nichole Videoed it and copied everyone's pictures. she is going to put them all together an a disc and I will be mailing them out to those who want them. if you are not one of the children and would like a copy please email me and let me know. Name, Address etc. you can email it to me joellenziegler@gmail.com
The military honors were done at the funeral and the Flag and shells presented to Uncle Bill.
Kalispell 3rd. ward provided a luncheon for the family and friends after the services. This was very kind of them.
I will be mailing out to the siblings a few things including programs from the funeral and a copy of the Death certificate. I will probably wait till Nichole is done with the video.
There are a few other details I will be discussing with my siblings that need to be finished up.
I know Dad is so happy to be back with Mom . We will greatly miss him but I know life is eternal and we will see him again some day.
I hope and pray we can all use this blog to keep up to date with each other and share our joys and our sorrows.
I will continue to post on here and hope you enjoy our families lives and news.
I LOVE and MISS you ALL.
Jo Ellen

Everyone, Going to Montana for the last rites for Dad was a wonderful experience. Everything fell into place - the grave stones are beautiful and each one individualized for them.
The program for the grave side service went together smoothly as well.
The Viewing was great - they were able to plump up Dad's face and stomach a little and he looked really nice and peaceful. There were some tears, but mostly joy abounded. The 3 gun salute by the National Guard was very touching as were the short talks and songs that were sung.
The family dinner was fun and Uncle Bill gave us some stories involving Dad that were very funny!
The trip home was long, but nice to get back to 75 degrees again. Everyone teased me about my room in the hotel being as a sauna, but when you are used to keeping the air conditioning at 80, well, for me, it was just right!
Thank you to all who attended and hope to get a copy of the Wonderful Obituary that Dawn did.
Take care and love to all. Lee A. Hopkins
sorry, I jumped from one topic to another in the same paragraph! Sometimes I jump ahead of myself when writing.
When I got home and went to my club on the internet, I had more than 500 messages of prayers being offered up for the family and good thoughts as well. What a touching thing for so many to do. I asked all my friends to wear something purple on the day of his service and the women in the Relief Society as well. Most did exactly that, and it was much appreciated.
